I’ve never used Mary Kay’s make-up or known anybody that uses her make-up, but she is no doubt running a very successful business and had to overcome big obstacles in her life. I receive a “quote of the day” every day in my e-mail account. This one arrived yesterday and it really struck a chord with me. I really like it. What it means to me is putting myself out there, doing everything I can to move things forward, knowing that I will stumble and fall along the way. Failure is often times a part of the natural path to success. There are many examples, and I can’t let myself forget this, otherwise failures will stop me from moving forward. In fact, they have in the past put me into extended periods of limbo because I just “needed to take a break.” Good thing it wasn’t permanent limbo. Setting the goals and creating an action plan, planning my work and working my plan. So what if this particular set of efforts did not yield the results? Set a new goal, create a new approach, then plan the work and work the plan again, as long as I am still breathing. That’s pretty much what keeps me going.
I saw Kristal Karge from Patton Casting Monday night at Reelpros. She is a sweatheart, and I think my scene went pretty well. This Sunday I’m doing a Cold reading Class with Peter Holden. I have a feeling this year is going to be very interesting.
