HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Short film shoot with Matt Koval went well, really fun and can’t wait to see the series. I’m currently reading Next! An Actor’s Guide to Auditioning by Ellie Kanner My thoughtful boyfriend bought me a bunch of acting books for Christmas because he would like me to succeed. He did a great job because he chose a bunch I haven’t read, and I have a shelf full of them that have been scoured, highlighted and pages dogeared. I’m trying to figure out what I can be doing that I’m not currently doing to take things to the next level. Am I procrastinating something? Should I get a personal coach for every “bigger” audition? Am I scared to spend money on more training/development? Have I failed to pray to the correct God(s)? Are the stars misaligned? It’s kinda like trying to invent the light bulb, how many thousands of times did Edison fail before succeeding? Agent? Check. Manager? Check. Good Headshots? Manager picking out new ones from recent photoshoot right now. Check. Booking? Woof! Who the f*ck knows. There’s a large “crap shoot” element to this business. Here comes 2009! xoxo Lid

Why do I bother feeling pathetic? It’s such a waste of time, seriously.

IPHONE IPHONE IPHONE commericial for me pretty please with lots of apps on top? I went on an audition for IPHONE about a week ago. I think I did really well. Why aren’t they calling me? People can be so silly, I swear.
Also, after feeling pathetic earlier today and in general lately, got a call I booked before 2009! I met my challenge. Yippee! Hooray!! It’s a short film about an embarrassing subject, how do you handle the situation when you catch your kid masturbating? Yeah sure film makers have done that subject a million times, but what about when it’s a little girl, huh? Yeah, that’s right, girls do it too. Anyway I think this is gonna be funny. It shoots this Sunday and even pays me a little bit. Yes I’m grateful. The director’s name is Matt Koval, this is his website http://mattkoval.com/. The casting director was Michael McCaskey.
Cool, dude.
28 days left in 2008 to book a job! My own personal challenge. Also, Kraft Chocolate Molten Cake Recipe Video is finished!

Yesterday I had an audition for Jeff Gerrard Casting for a Credit Union commercial and today I had one for Six Flags at Terry Berland Casting. The Six Flags audition was quite interesting – I had to push an invisible kid on a invisible swing and on the fourth swing the invisible kid disappeared but I couldn’t be too alarmed just react with “oh that’s odd.” HAHA
Here’s the Kraft Chocolate Molten Cake Recipe video we shot a couple weekends ago. Turns out we are going to be automatically disqualified due to the missed detail in the official rules that everyone on camera has to be at least 18 years of age or older. Well, my boyfriend Roger still learned a lot about shooting a cooking show and we can send this video to all of our friends and family, because this is a totally delicious recipe, trust me! I think I need to make this desert again soon.
Here’s a link to the youtube video, check it out!
